LUMBINI PARK PROJECT

Project founders

“OPEN SPACE” LLC and GENCO TOUR BUREAU

We have been successfully working for the past several years in the field of tourism to develop world class tourist attraction based on the long-and-affluent history of Buddhism and unique nomadic culture in Mongolia. One of the largest projects we have lucratively completed is the world’s largest statue of a horseman with the height of 40 meters. Mongolians proudly find that the statue is of Chinggis Khaan, a man of the millennium. Another project is “the 13th century nomadic camp” project sharing the history and culture of the nomads with tens of thousands of domestic and foreign visitors. Due to the exceptional design and cultural and historical significance of these projects, they were honored/awarded as the “Outstanding Architect Design”. The projects we do will never be duplicated and it is worldwide special by its specific art designs and historical locations.

Chinggis Khaan statue complex

The haughty and yet honorable statue is surrounded by 36 columns representing 36 great Mongolian Khaans. The entire edifice is covered with 250 tons of stainless steel. Visitors will ascend to the exhibition hall using an elevator at the back of the horse and will walk to the horse's head passing through its chest and the back of its neck from where they will have an excellent panoramic view over the complex area and the scenery beyond. Within the complex area covering 212 hectares of land resembling the 13th century living will brought to life for today's modern people. The statue is also surrounded by over 200 ger camps and examples of tribes' lifestyles with trading the coins from the 13th Century. The construction of the whole complex is to be completed in 2010, with a spa, hotel and a golf course.

Introduction of the project

The “Lumbini Park”, Buddhist cultural and educational center, is going to be located at the place so called “Zurkh tolgoi” (the Heart hill) in Sergelen sum, Tuv province or 45km east of Ulaanbaatar City. There are some historical statements that 2nd Bogd khan (Mongolian Buddhist leader), that he was living around this area 300 years ago. It is indeed a historical site.

There will be placed a giant turtle in 108 meters height and 500 meters width in diameters. In the middle and on the topple of the giant turtle, the 108 meter high Maitreya Buddha Statue will erected with total height of 216 meters from the ground, which is going to be the world’s highest Maitreya Buddha statue.

"Relying on certain Mahayana Buddhist citations and quotations, we believe that in this fortunate aeon one thousand buddhas will appear. This is the time of the fourth buddha, Buddha Shakyamuni, whose teaching is still existing, and the fifth Buddha will be Maitreya Buddha."

XIV Dalai Lama
